Setting off for a high mountain summit with the hope of catching a beautiful, if not unforgettable, sunset is one of our favorite ways to enjoy an afternoon on skis… Without fail, we always seem to squeeze a backcountry run or two into these tours, too. The flip side of being on a mountain top at sunset is that we often end up skiing home under just a faint alpen glow, the soft light of a rising moon, or occasionally, with our trusty headlamps.
