With March’s longer and warmer days upon us, it’s a great time to get together with friends on skis and celebrate. Several events coming up this weekend will make this especially easy and fun to do, so get out there and make the most of another great winter season, before it’s time to plant the garden again!
Bolton to Barns Backcountry Ski Tour
On Saturday, March 10th, the 3rd Annual Bolton to the Barns Ski Tour will present backcountry skiers with a great opportunity to spend a day in the hills of Vermont with friends and fellow skiers, while helping the Vermont Youth Conservation Corps create opportunities for young Vermonters wishing to play an active role in conserving the Vermont landscape. After the tour, skiers can enjoy a warm fire, warm food (chili…and CREPES), libations and some great camaraderie.
If you can’t make the tour, but would like to support the event and the VYCC, please head to this link. For more info, you can also contact Breck Knauft at 802-434-3969 x110. Please help spread the word, too. Thanks!
Mad River Glen Telemark/Ski Festival
Don’t miss the “Mother of all Telemark Festivals” at Vermont’s Mad River Glen this Saturday and Sunday, March 10 and 11, 2012. This weekend long gathering of skiers (telemark gear is not required!) features great music, a big demo of the latest gear, a world-record attempt at the largest group telemark turn, helpful ski instruction, a few telemark competitions, a wild apres-ski party on Saturday (featuring Lawson’s Finest) and more… Head to the North American Telemark Organization (NATO) website for all the details.
