The first significant snow-producing nor’easter of the 2010-11 season dumped 10-30+″ of heavy snow over the highest mountain areas of the Northeast this weekend (VT’s Greens and NY’s Adirondacks, especially), and skiers have been out since Friday (10/15) morning embracing the return of our good friend Old Man Winter. Here are a few images from Friday and the weekend below, and please read our latest *Backcountry Update* for more thoughts on the storm and skiing this week (Skiers: Emily , Brian (grey hat/white goggles) and Dave Bouchard (dark helmet))
Enjoy the snow! – Brian

I’m psyched to see you guys out there already! I figured you would be. Just a dusting here on the top of Ascutney. Looks like a fun time. Yea, winter is here!
That’s great dude, I especially love the tele boots on the carpet of fallen leaves.
Is it true, Ascutney closed?

On the Snow is also reporting that Ascutney will be closed.

Ascutney could be the backcountry Mecca for 2010-2011.
Can you climb Ascutney and ski down the trails? If so, any suggestions for the climb, ski and where to park so as to avoid problems? Thinking of heading up next Sat. Thanks!
Wonderful! Glad it’s you and not us. We are not ready for snow yet, but then again when it comes to snow midwesterners are wimps!
Nice to see Bouch made it out for a fun run with you guys…
sweet shots, Brian
