The first significant snow-producing nor’easter of the 2010-11 season dumped 10-30+″ of heavy snow over the highest mountain areas of the Northeast this weekend (VT’s Greens and NY’s Adirondacks, especially), and skiers have been out since Friday (10/15) morning embracing the return of our good friend Old Man Winter. According to Ski Maven, Ascutney will be closed this season.

Ascutney could be the backcountry Mecca for 2010-2011.
Can you climb Ascutney and ski down the trails? If so, any suggestions for the climb, ski and where to park so as to avoid problems? Thinking of heading up next Sat. Thanks!
